We might be travelers

Lazzy Feet on a Blue Ocean Beach vacation

We never go anywhere. At least not anywhere we don’t schlep along diapers, snacks, water, and oh – 3 kids. We are only semi-proficient at scheduling date nights. So finding the time (and someone to keep our kids) for an overnight date hasn’t happened since we were a family of 3 (yes, that’s over 5 years ago).

Enter our former babysitter. She is the kind of person you pinch yourself after meeting. She’s kind, funny, smart, and she likes us. And better than that, she LOVES our kids. Though in past years she has had the nerve to graduate from college and then law school. Then she continued her cheekiness by getting married and moving across the country. How dare she??!

But she’s coming back. [Just for a week.] But in that week she has offered to keep our children OVERNIGHT. Can you believe it? We can’t either. We are so excited we haven’t planned a thing. We don’t even know if we are going to stay in town or put some miles between us and the smalls. We haven’t talked about where we will sleep, where we will eat, where we will play. I think I may be afraid of the jinx. Surely someone will get sick, or J’s job will require him to work. Or some major weather event will happen. Or or or…

Or we may get away, sleep the entire time we are away, and come home completely refreshed. And that might be just fine.

Wow, how lucky are you to have someone in your life that would do that, we can’t even get a sitter for a few hours and have only had an evening out together twice since J was born, we’ve never had a night off *sigh*. Like to think I’d spend a night off sleeping but I’d probably spend the entire night worrying about little man. πŸ™‚
Whatever you do I hope you have a great time, enjoy your night off and I hope nothing gets in the way.
