Our clan is taking a road trip. The beauty of homeschool is we can do it anywhere, so we packed our bags and headed out the door.
This experience will be rich in stories. The five of us will travel around 2000 miles by the time we are back home. Already we are seeing sights worth blogging about.
All along the freeway, firefighters, most of them volunteer, are lined up next to their trucks waving American flags. They are, of course, memorializing 9/11. It’s poignant beyond belief. Especially in the wake of the fires that have devastated my community this week.
Firefighters are always heroes. That’s why little boys and girls want to be them when they grow up.
Today, these men and women are making J and I a tad weepy as we drive down the freeway.
We even tried to snap a photo as we passed, but that’s not easy to do at 80 mph.
